This course provides hands-on training in surgical procedures using the Touch Surgery App. You will learn how a surgeon performs surgery, the instruments used in each procedure, and essential surgical techniques.

Each procedure includes a compulsory quiz, which can only be attempted once. Your quiz performance will be recorded as part of your evaluation in surgical technology.

How to Use This Course

Step 1: Prepare Your Device

✅ Ensure you have a smartphone, iPad, or tablet with internet access.

✅ Download the Touch Surgery App from:

•   Google Play Store (Android)
•   App Store (iOS)

✅ Create an account on the Touch Surgery App to track your progress.

Step 2: Access the Course on the E-learning Platform

✅ Log in to your student account on the Southwest Medical Academy e-learning website.

✅ Navigate to the Surgical Technician Hands-on Course section.

✅ Select a procedure you want to learn.

Step 3: Open the Touch Surgery App

✅ Click on the procedure link on the e-learning website.

✅ The link will automatically open the Touch Surgery App.

✅ If prompted, log in to your Touch Surgery account to start learning.

Step 4: Follow the Step-by-Step Surgical Simulation

✅ Carefully follow each step in the Touch Surgery App.

✅ Learn how the surgeon performs the procedure.

✅ Observe and identify the surgical instruments used at each stage.

✅ Repeat the simulation multiple times until you feel confident.

Step 5: Close the Touch Surgery App Before Proceeding to the Next Procedure

✅ After completing a procedure, fully close the Touch Surgery App.

✅ Return to the e-learning platform.

✅ Select the next procedure link, which will automatically relaunch the Touch Surgery App and direct you to the exact procedure to be learned.

Step 6: Hands-on Practice & Discussion

✅ Take notes on key steps and important instruments.

✅ Discuss your findings with instructors and classmates.

✅ If available, attend hands-on practice sessions to reinforce your learning.

Step 7: Attempt the Compulsory Quiz

✅ After completing a procedure, return to the e-learning platform.

✅ Attempt the compulsory quiz for that procedure.

✅ You can only attempt the quiz once, so ensure you understand the procedure before taking it.

✅ Your quiz performance will be recorded as part of your assessment in surgical technology.

Step 8: Mastering All Procedures

✅ Attempt all procedures to gain a complete understanding.

✅ Familiarize yourself with different surgical techniques and their instruments.

✅ Review any additional reading materials provided on the platform.

Step 9: Certification & Final Assessment

✅ After completing all procedures and quizzes, take the final assessment on the e-learning platform.

✅ Participate in a practical session under an instructor’s supervision.

✅ Upon successful completion, receive a certificate for the course.
